夏にめでたく Beach Boys で日本に降臨した Brian Wilson。Beach Boys は次のアルバムも出すみたいな話になってるっぽい。
Brian ソロ名義の近作 2作はディズニーから出ている。
ディズニーのオファーは ディズニー映画のカバー集(“In the Key of Disney”)を作らないかというものだったらしく、それに対して Brian 側がまずガーシュウィンのカバー集(“Reimagines Gershwin”)を作らせてくれと言って、この2枚ができたということらしい。
バックはおなじみの鉄壁サポート軍なので手堅い。
どちらかと言うとガーシュウィン作品集(一部は Brian の補作もある)の方がより持ち味が出ている気がする。ガーシュウィンだけどジャジーではなくていつものあの感じ。
