Bob Jamesのアルバム4枚を2CDに収めたセット。ジャケがだいぶイマイチだけども、音だけでOKな人にはこれでも問題ないだろう。
1枚目、”One”(’74) と “Two”(’75) は ムソルグスキー “Night on Bald Mountain”, ビゼー”Farandole”などクラシック曲も取り上げられている。エレピとシンセが前面に出ていることもあってか、プログレ的な印象すらある。”Two”では Patti Austin が1曲唄っている。
“One”の”Nautilus“、”Two”の Paul Simon カバー”Take Me to the Mardi Gras” はどちらも定番ブレイクビーツ。

2枚目の “Three”(’76), “BJ4″(’77) になるとまたガラっと変わって、ファンク色の濃いフュージョンになる。演奏の上では Bob James はあくまでも「バンドの一員」という感じ。レゲエ/カリプソ風味な曲も何曲か。
